Summer Student Program

Due to the grant funding cycle, the next O'Brien Summer Student Program will take place the summer of 2019.

The University of Michigan Kidney Translational Core Center Medical Student Training Program in Kidney Disease (MKTCC-MSTP-KD) is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. This program allows medical students to conduct research under the direction of an established scientist in the areas of basic, systems biological, translational, clinical or health services research in kidney disease.

This program will be an 8-week research experience from June 3 to July 26, 2019. Program participants historically received a stipend of $3,672, this will be similar for 2019. The selected students must also submit and present a poster for the UM Summer Biomedical Research Program Research Symposium in early November of the program year.
