The Administrative Core facilitates research conducted by basic science investigators within the Research Base. Specifically, this Core aims to promote access to instrumentation and technical expertise not found within the individual’s laboratory, that would accelerate and refine an investigator’s work, or, that would allow the investigator to ask questions that would not otherwise be accessible.

For this purpose, the Administrative Core encourages usage of the following O'Brien Center Programs and Services available to investigators at the University of Michigan. Any faculty member engaged in kidney or kidney-related research is eligible to apply for the below programs and/or be added to the list of Kidney Center Investigators.

• Pilot and Feasibility Grant Program
• Kidney Educational and Enrichment Program
• Summer Student Program (NIH-funded investigators may be listed as a lab placement option)
